The Vegan Kind - Beauty Box Review

the vegan kind beauty box
Hi beauties :)
I seen a few weeks back that the vegan kind had a one off beauty box. I am always looking for vegan options, as you all might know its not the easiest task but this is a great idea for people to find new products that are vegan and cruelty free, try them.
Whats in the box?

Inika Black Caviar eyeliner(RRP £13.50)
I absolutely adore eyeliners so I was very happy to receive this in the beauty box , Inika,  is a certified organic and it is handcrafted with natural products and minerals, for me this adds to the naturalness of the product.
It has a creamy feel and this can be used to add textures or for a smokey eye effect. Will be putting this to the test soon to see if it works.

White Rabbit Lime and Coconut Cleansing Water (RRP £4)
We all love taking care of our skin and I am no different, having a variety of cleaners and skincare products i like to keep my skin fresh and cleansed. White Rabbit cleansing water is enriched with orange blossom water, coconut oil and spring water the combination of which smells so beautiful. This is a perfect addition to your skincare regime for removing  make up and cleansing your skin.

Simply Soaps Orange Cocoa Bath Melt (RRP £4.50)
I must admit when I seen this I thought the lovely people at the vegan kind added a chocolate bar ha ha! it looks like chocolate and smells like heaven with the scent of oranges and cocoa butter. This bath melt has natural oils perfect for a soothing bath that is well deserved after a long day. I love this and simply can't wait to use it.

Furless 'Must have' Stippling brush (RRP £8.50)
I noticed this brand a few weeks back on my twitter as their brushes looked stunning and I just had to follow them.  I am ecstatic to try this brand and look forward to trying more. Furless is an Australian company which sell completely vegan and cruelty - free brushes. Stippling brushes can be used to apply all kinds of different make ups such as mousses, creams and foundations etc.

Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Beauty Eyeshadows X2 1g Samples (RRP £3.50)
I got 'Platinum Tiara' which is a silver colour and 'Dusty Road' which is a sandy kind of colour. I like the samples of these as they are perfect to carry in your bag for touch ups and you can re-use the pots once the eye-shadow has finished. 'Beautiful movements' are a new make up brand which are now available in Holland and Barrats around the country so keep an eye out. :)

The Vegan Kind Beauty box is still available on their website and it is £15 plus £2.95 for P&P. Its a bargain in my personal opinion as its worth so much more and you can try new brands, How great is that?

Do you buy and beauty boxes?

Faux Almond Nail Effect tutorial

faux almond nails
faux almond nail effect
Hi Honey Bee's
I love nail polishes and have always wanted to try almond nails out buy my partner doesn't really like the idea of them because he thinks they might be sharp and poke him haha. So to combat this I had the bright idea the other day why not try drawing the effect myself with Models own nail polish - Red alert and their nail art pen in black.

This is a very simple faux almond nail design for anyone to do and looks quite fun when you are finished so I made a step by step guide.
Steps
  1. Pick the nail colour you want :)
  2. Apply a base coat to your nails
  3. Once they have dried apply your desired colour to your nail, for a more vibrant and opaque look use 2 to 3 coats, I personally used 2.
  4. Get your nail art pen and with the brush curve around to the very tip of your nail and do the same on the opposite side till they meet at the top
  5. On the sides fill them in to make the shadow effect.
  6. For long lasting results use a top coat to make the nail design last long, I personally love Barry M top coat.

Hope you like this look :)
Tell me your thoughts below in the comments! :)

My Families Eid Celebrations

Hi Honey Bee's
As you guys might know Ramadan has now finished and yesterday was Eid, Its unbelievable how fast the month flew past even though me and my partner were fasting, if you want to know more on Ramadan check my post dedicated to it Here. Eid Mubarak to you lovely people and I hope you all had a beautiful day. Today I am sharing my Eid with you lovelies.

Morning My son woke everyone up this morning by deciding to be a wrestler from WWE at 6 am and the girls woke up soon after. When we all got up me and my husband had a cuddle symbolizing the end of an amazing month  followed by a breakfast of an odd number of dates. We picked out the nicest clothes to wear and had fun picking my two daughters outfits today as they all match and apart from that I managed to get a picture before one of them moved. My son and partner went to our local mosque at 9 ish in the morning to get there in time for Eid prayer at 10. The mosque is quite small and there is no room for sisters to go on Fridays or during Eid unfortunately. Fortunately, they are looking to purchase a bigger building and my husband is persuading them towards that. My husband soon came back at and I was told it was very busy and everyone was in a celebratory mood by hugging and wishing each other well .

Afternoon.  Today was also my dad, Beefys 68th Birthday. I thought it would be a brilliant idea to go over to my mums and beefys home to give him his card and present. While their we had our lunch with my family which was hummus sandwiches with salad which went down a hit. I happened to have the idea that hummus in a sandwich would be nice and thankfully I was correct, with lettuce of course :) My mum has a beautiful dog called Ben and he is such a big softy,  he loves our company and he is like an uncle to us.  He always sits near us when we visit which I find so affectionate. My girls watched Peppa pig while sitting side by side with my mum while my son fell asleep on the couch. I love spending time at my mums and we go at least twice a week. When we came home I made a pilau from scratch for the first time and thankfully, it went down well with my husband and kids.

Night  After a long day at being at  my mums house the kids decided they would got to bed 30 minutes earlier than normal as they usually go at 7 am. Me and my partner had a nice and quite time with tea and cake; enjoying each others company, reflecting on life and praying for the people of Palestine.
Hope everyone had a lovely day!

The Vegan Kind #TVK9 July 2014

july vegan kind box
Hi Honey Bee's
This is probaly my sixth the vegan kind box I have had now and It still is one of my favorite times of the month. This month promised to be one of the best so that added to the excitement of getting the box this month. I have tried a few monthly subscription boxes but this remains a firm favorite of mine as all the products are vegan and are cruelty free with a variety of things from food to beauty items. Every month 10p from the sale from every box goes to charity and the charity is chosen on facebook. The charity this month was Blind dog rescue. Now lets see what I got this time.

Coconut Organics CocoBacon (RRP £2.35).
CocoBacon is a slightly smoked and slightly sweet coconut pieces, But for me I did not like the mix I love coconut with sweet things but the fact this was mixed with the smoked flavour did not work for me and I could not eat any more but saying that my children enjoyed them and they shared the packet in no time it was finished and they really enjoyed them, so I think this product is like marmite you will either love it or hate it.

Vego Chocolate Bar 150g (RRP £3.50).
Now this was absolutely massive!!  This is Italian finest chocolate packed with hazelnuts and divine hazelnut paste. This was polished off faster then it should of been, the chcolate was smooth and the nuts were not hard at all to bite through making it a dream in a bar. I can't wait to get another in the future.

Vita Coco Coconut Water 500ml (RRP £2.50).
I  was happy to get this as I just ran out of coconut water, Coconut water is very refreshing and tastes amazing and its all natural, can't get better then that! It is beautiful on its own or can be added with mixed fruity to make ice lollies in the freezer.

Frank Bar - Strawberry and Chocolate Flavour (RRP £1).
Frank bars are 100% that are packed with wholegrain oats, dates and dried plums all topped off with a coconut milk chocolate. I personally found this really nice and really quite filling which is great, I shared this with my husband and he just loved it too.

Heavenly Organics ‘Just Add Water’ Shampoo 30g (RRP £2.40).
This is the first time I have seen a powder shampoo, So I am looking forward and dreading using this at the time, but I do love the idea of it.

Squeeze Juice CafĂ© Wheatgrass Juice 30ml (RRP £2).
I have seen these so many times in health shops and juice bars and I have always been tempted to try one but I was always put off some way or another, so I am happy to have just received this just so I know what it is like, I am going to add this to a green smoothie.

So again very impressed again for this months Vegan kind, you cannot go wrong with the variety they have to offer and the grantee that everything is vegan and cruelty free is just a priceless thing for me.
You can purchase Augusts subscription box by going to the Vegan Kind website, The box is £10 plus £2.95 P&P.
What do you think of this months box?

Illamasqua Lipstick Immodest

Illamasqua immodest
Illamasqua packaging
Illamasqua immodest swatch

Hi Honey Bee's
Today I am reviewing my all time make up brand Illamasqua!. I have been eyeing up their make up for ages and did treat myself recently to one of their lipsticks seeing as the brand is cruelty free. Making the choice was not an easy one because they is so many beautiful choices but eventually I chose Immodest(RRP|£18.50). Which is a vivid matte pink. I really love my matte lipsticks and thought the pink compliments this gorgeous weather we are having at the moment.
The lipstick was easy to apply but did feel a little dry unfortunately but the colour of the lipstick made up for that and it lasted so much longer then most lipsticks I have tried, so personally I think that is why you pay a premium price for this product because it actually works and does give you a matte effect lip colour. For me it lasted 5 hours before the need of re applying even with this warm weather etc which is just fabulous for a lipstick. A tip for me for longer lasting lip colour apply a lip scrub or moisturizer for longer lasting colour.
Overall I am happy with the lipstick and I would in future add more to my ever growing lipstick collection. Next time I am hoping to get a purple shade, daring I know :D.
Do you have any Illamasqua Make-up?

A Simple Ramadan Guide.

a simple guide to Ramadan
Calligraphy of Allah(swt) and Muhammad(saw)

Hi Honey bee's!
I hope everyone is having an amazing week and enjoying the sunshine. As a few of you guys know it is now Ramadan right now so today I thought I would give you guys a simple guide to Ramadan.

Ramadan is based on  Islams 5 Pillars which are
  • Shahadah - Declaring your faith sincerely
  • Salah - Praying the 5 obligatory prayers.
  • Zakat - Is where you pay 2.5% of your yearly wealth to charity
  • Sawm - Fasting during Ramadan
  • Hajj - Pilgrimage to mecca.

While Muslims fast we do not eat or drink from dawn till sunset, there is also other things we do not do during that time too which are smoking, anything naughty ha ha. Other behavior such as swearing and engaging in disagreements, back biting. Abstain from our desires.

As Muslim we strive to also increase reading the Quran and reading more salah(five daily prayers) as the spiritual rewards for this is multiplied during Ramadan.

Ramadan in the Quran:
Chapter 2, Revelation 185, of the Quran states:

The month of Ramadan is the month in which was revealed the Quran and i quote, "a guidance for mankind, and clear proofs of the guidance, and the criterion (of right and wrong). And whosoever of you is present, let him fast the month, and whosoever of you is sick or on a journey, a number of other days. Allah desires for you ease; He desires not hardship for you; and that you should complete the period, and that you should magnify Allah for having guided you, and that perhaps you may be thankful".
Important dates in Ramadan.
Hilal (the crescent) - This is when a new moon marks the beginning of a new month so this is typically where we find out when Ramadan starts.
Night of Power - The night of power is considered the most holy night of the year as this was the first night that Muhammad(pbuh) got the first revelation of the holy Quran. It is believed to be one of the odd days in the last 10 days of Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr - This  marks the end of Ramadan and this is the end of fasting and is also a celebration for completing Ramadan. Kinda like Christmas :)
